Why is heat recovery maintenance so important?
Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) is essential for your health. Every day, you breathe in about 11,000 liters of air, of which about 80% is when you are indoors. Good ventilation and a well-maintained ventilation system are necessary to remove the moisture and dirt present in the home. If your ventilation is not in order, this can result in an excessively humid indoor climate, which in turn can lead to headaches, sleep problems, skin complaints, and lung conditions such as asthma or allergies. Periodic HRV maintenance ensures good ventilation, so you always feel energetic and fresh.
What we do during maintenance
We inspect and clean the heat recovery unit, the fans, the heat exchanger, the condensate drain, and other accessible parts. We check the filters and replace them where necessary.
In addition, we clean the connected ventilation ducts to:

- The bedrooms
- The living spaces
- The other connected spaces
After cleaning, we check and readjust the air supply and exhaust. Without this adjustment, you do not know whether every room is receiving the correct amount of air, and then the cleaning is only half-finished.
Why a dirty heat recovery unit costs more than you think
A heat recovery unit extracts polluted air and simultaneously brings in fresh outside air, using the heat from the extracted air to warm up that fresh air. This only works if the filters, fans, heat exchanger, and ducts are clean.
If they become contaminated, air quality deteriorates, the unit makes more noise, and it consumes more energy. And because heat recovery becomes less efficient, colder air enters that your heating system has to warm up. So you are paying for the pollution twice.
